J-10AY bases on the development of J-10A single-seater fighter to be the plane of China Air Force 81 Performance Team, first flighted in 2009. Its biggest feature is a large bubble-type canopy in order to ensure the pilot’s good vision. J-10AY with the cannon removed, it fixed on high-precision flight instruments and smoke device. The using of tri-colour paint reflects the new face of the PLAAF.
